Dutch men's furnishings retailer, SuitSupply, which opened its first door in the United States four years ago, will soon have a presence in the venerable Bloomingdale's department store flagship at 59th Street in Manhattan as well as its store in the Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles.
SuitSupply was founded in Amsterdam in 2000 by Fokke de Jong. According to an article in last week's WWD Men's Week, SuitSupply hadn't planned on such a collaboration, already having 14 of its own brand stores in the U.S. with expansion plans for another five stores this year alone (Los Angeles, Greenwich, San Francisco, Miami and Dallas). But he was soon persuaded by David Fisher, executive VP and GMM of mens at Bloomingdales.
The SuitSupply shop in Bloomingdales flagship is scheduled to open in April (2015) with the Beverly Center unit following shortly after. The chain has stores in more than ten countries including the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Canada, China and Singapore.
SuitSupply offers fashionable, slimmer cut men's suits ranging in pricepoint from $400-1,000. It was ranked #1 in men's suits by the Wall Street Journal.
