Whether you wear designer or unbranded footwear, these are the 5 fashion trends in women’s shoes to be aware of for the coming Fall 2018 season…
WESTERN BOOTS: It’s been a while since we’ve seen cowboy boots trending but this season modern takes on the classic style will be dominating the footwear category, both in mid and low shaft heights. Isabel Marant offers a studded heel low pull-on boot (€550 Stylebop), Calvin Klein 205W39NYC adds a metal toe cap (€1170 Stylebop) and Fendi spices up their tall western boot with a cutout stacked heel half covered in leather (€990 Browns London).
MARYJANES: The ultra-feminine maryjane pattern is big for Fall in both single and double strap silhouettes. Prada offers a contemporary high heel round toe version with adjustable bungy straps (€690 Italist) while Jennifer Chamandi offers a combination leather/leopard pointed toe low heel maryjane (€592 Browns London)
MAN-TAILORED: Included here are classic mens silhouettes such as wingtips and captoe oxfords with brogueing details, penny loafers, kiltie and tassel mocs. Church’s offers a studded leather brogue (€507 Browns London) while Clergerie offers a metallic leather derby with kiltie detail (€610 Saks Fifth Avenue). Marni updates the man-tailored look with a tri-color platform moc on a lug outsole (€690 LN-CC).
ARCHITECTURAL HEELS: A lot of attention is being placed this season on heel shape, whether it be in the form of a chunky block, geometric cutout, sculpted flare or inverted wedge. Clean upper patterns are combined to maintain focus on the visually interesting heels. Stuart Weitzman‘s ‘Freja’ bootie with suede upper on a low gold sculpted heel is a perfect example (€560 Stuart Weitzman) as is Salvatore Ferragamo‘s ‘Coriano’ back sip leather bootie with birdcage heel (€1203 Saks Fifth Avenue).
LACEUP BOOTS WITH LUG SOLES: The classic alpine hiker and grunge rock, industrial boots of the 80’s were the basis for this fifth women’s shoe fashion trend for Fall 2018. They are updated for the season with more feminine lasts, but make no mistake, they still read ‘strength’ and ‘power’ which align with the current ‘Me Too’ movement. Versace offers a black patent leather version with golf studded detail (€1250 Stylebop) while MICHAEL Michael Kors offers an inside-zip bootie version with feminine buckle detailing (€285 Italist)
