AMAZON PLANS TO EXPAND NETHERLANDS WEBSHOP
On 15th January, Amazon EU released a press statement confirming that its Netherlands webshop, which has been operational for several years but only sells digital books, will be expanded into a full marketplace later this year.
As reported back in November, bol.com was planning to expand its assortment of mens and womens fashion clothing and shoes in January, which indeed has been the case (although the selection can still be improved).
ARKET TO OPEN STORE IN THE HAGUE
Arket, the sister division of H&M, is known for its sustainable fashions for men, women and children. The brand will open its second store in the Netherlands in March in The Hague city center where it will be housed in the former Mexx building.
MALL OF THE NETHERLANDS OPENING
The Mall of the Netherlands will have finally have its grand opening in October of this year according to a spokesperson for the mall. The transition from the Leidsenhage outdoor shopping center to the new indoor mall which will be the largest in the country, has been ongoing for several years.
N BRANDS TO OPEN STORE IN EINDHOVEN
Dutch designer and former model Nikkie Plessen will open a retail store on the Demer in Eindhoven in the old Skechers space. The opening date is not set. Her labels include NIKKIE (for women), Nik & Nik (for children), Fifth House (for women) and Sustain (for men). There are currently ‘N Brands’ stores in The Hague, Rotterdam and Zwolle.
